The Managed Workstation service provides software images that include an operating system, applications, and configuration in a single easy to deploy bundle.

What's in the standard MWS image?

The current MWS image includes:

• Windows 11  
• Microsoft Office 
• Chrome
• Firefox
• Crowdstrike Falcon Endpoint Detection
• UW fonts
• Secure CRT
• LastPass Password Manager

How to apply a software image

There are 2 ways to get an OS image on a computer:

1. Ask Managed Workstation to do it for you. This activity is billable via the MWS consulting rate and is more cost efficient with several computers.
2. Do it yourself via using OSD.

How to request a custom software image

If you require a custom software image, fill out the New Image Request form. Note that this is different from requesting a software package for distribution via Software Center.  That information can be found on our Software Package page.

Image updates and notifications

We will send an announcement to the "MWS Announce" email list when we have published a new Standard Image so you can make decisions for your department accordingly.
