Microsoft previously announced that support for Windows 10 will end on October 14, 2025.

What to expect

• Most computers purchased at this time come with Windows 11.
• Not every computer will be compatible with Windows 11. Managed Workstation can assist customers in identifying those computers and determining a plan for replacements.

What's new with Windows 11?

The first changes you will notice are:

• Your taskbar icons have moved to the center of the screen.
• The start menu is consolidated and live tiles are no longer an option.
• When you right click on the desktop, there are new options.
• Right click on file and you'll find cut, copy and paste replaced by icons for those functions at the top of the menu.
• The taskbar is now only at the bottom.

Additional things to note:

• See this Microsoft page for an overview of Windows 11.
• Though the user interface may look different, you can expect most features to work the same.
• Windows 11 largely behaves like Windows 10 but the new user interface is an interesting hybrid between macOS and Windows 10. The initial login screen looks similar, and the file system is mostly unchanged.
• Most applications should maintain compatibility.
