The Google Workspace Marketplace is where Google offers a variety of apps for installation by all Google accounts including consumer @gmail.com accounts.

However, because the University of Washington does not have appropriate privacy and data security agreements in place with the publishers of the vast majority of apps, no apps are approved for installation by UW Google accounts. Many apps are published by unscrupulous publishers and request levels of access that are inappropriate for use at the University of Washington (e.g., requesting access to ALL files a UW Google account has access to) considering the potentially sensitive academic and research data in the UW Google tenant. 

Therefore, in order to align with the University of Washington's privacy and data security goals, all app installations are blocked.
