About grade posting policies

In Gradebook, the grade posting policies feature replaces the muting/unmuting of assignment scores feature from a previous version of Gradebook. You can select a default grade posting policy for all course assignments, either manual or automatic (the default). We recommend setting the posting policy to "manually post grades;" this will hide any entered scores from students until you post grades for the assignment. Hiding grades also hides submission comments and grade change notifications. Please note: You must set the grade posting policy to manual before students submit any work. If not set to manual prior to student submissions, the student grades will be visible. Course grade posting policies are not applied retroactively to previous submissions.
