Transfer ownership of Shared UW NetID

You can manage ownership of Shared UW NetIDs you own by clicking “Shared UW NetIDs” on the left side of your UW NetID Manage page: https://uwnetid.washington.edu/manage/ 

If you are the Shared UW NetID account owner

1. Log into your Manage page here: https://uwnetid.washington.edu/manage/?shared

2. In the list of Shared UW NetIDs, click on the Shared UW NetID you would like to transfer ownership of. Please note, you can only transfer ownership of Shared UW NetIDs where you’re listed as an “Owner” in the Role column

3. Click the “Owners and Administrators” link on the left

4. You can only transfer ownership to an Account Administrator.

   1. If the user you would like to transfer ownership to is listed under “Account Administrators”, click the “Manage ownership” link and proceed to step 5.
      

   2. If you do not see the user you would like to transfer ownership to listed under “Account Administrators”, enter their UW NetID into the “Add Administrator” field and click “Add Administrators”. Once added, click the “Manage ownership” link and proceed to step 5.
      

5. After you click the “Manage ownership” link, you’ll be taken to the Shared NetID Ownership Transfer page with your Account Administrators listed as Candidate Owners listed, choose one and click “Assign new Owner”
