You can start planning your schedule in MyPlan or using the Time Schedule two weeks before Period 1 registration opens. However, you won’t be able to import courses from MyPlan or add SLNs to your cart until your registration period starts, after completing your Pre-Registration. Keep in mind that your browser does not save courses in your cart, if you refresh or reopen the page, you will need to add them again.

Only courses in the “Planned” section will be imported. Courses in the Backup section or those with errors (Issues to Resolve) will not be included. To ensure a course is imported, resolve any errors or move it to the “Planned” section.

Pre-Registration opens a week before Period 1 Registration. We strongly recommend you complete your Pre-Registration steps before your registration date.

To do so, select your preferred grading option under “Grading,” carefully review and acknowledge the “Select Grading Option” notice, and click “Update Schedule.” Please note that your changes will not be saved unless you click “Update Schedule.”

To change the credit hours for a variable-credit course, first check the "Drop" box next to the course in your current schedule, then add the same course to your cart with your desired credit amount. Finally, click "Update Schedule" to complete the adjustment. This allows you to change your credit enrollment while keeping your spot in the course,

The University of Washington Pre-Registration is a required step before students can officially register for their courses. It may include optional charges, directory release settings, safety and health notices, and other information.

Registration holds are restrictions placed on your student account that prevent you from enrolling in classes until resolved. These may include financial, academic, or administrative requirements. For details on policies and procedures, visit the university policies webpage. If you are unsure how to resolve a hold, please contact your advisor before your registration date to ensure your eligibility to register.
