The Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) at the University of Washington provides structured data access for institutional reporting and analysis. This guide outlines the available server environments, the databases in use, and how to access them.
Each EDW database operates in two environments:

EDW databases store essential financial, academic, and research data. Below is a breakdown of major databases and their current state.

EDWPresentation | The presentation layer includes integrated financial, research, and academic data designed for easy queries and analysis, with certified definitions and documented business rules. RAD2 | RAD2 is an analytic database in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) that supports research administration reporting by providing access to proposal, award, and sponsor data. Built in collaboration with ORIS and launched in April 2025, RAD2 replaces the legacy RAD Cube and addresses data gaps caused by the transition to Workday Finance. It integrates proposal data from SAGE via the RIP platform, award data from Workday, and sponsor data from FE-App, enabling users to analyze research activities by sponsor, funding action type, and organizational unit. | Current |
AnalyticInteg (AIDB) | A sandbox environment that was created to give data users across campus the ability to work with and explore PNBDB data structures in a SQL context. AIDB was built in collaboration with the Office of Planning and Budgeting (OPB) to serve as a proof of concept for consolidating academic and finance data. |

FinancialSumMart | A relational database that is organized to meet various administrative needs including annual financial auditing, UW organizational financial reporting, and budgeting analysis. GLDataMart | A General Ledger Data Mart. ODS | A relational database based on data that was originally captured in the central mainframe financial system (FAS) and the Human Resources/Payroll system (Workday).
