Kopah is the University of Washington's on-premises, S3-compatible object storage service. It offers flexible, cost-effective, and scalable storage.

Business Model and Pricing
Kopah offers three main options:
Quota Plan – ideal for flexible or short-term use
Small Condo – 12 TB, with one-time hardware cost and lower monthly fees
Large Condo – 300 TB, best suited for high-capacity storage
Important Consideration: Kopah is not backed up. For backup solutions, UW researchers can use services like Lolo or external systems.

Eligibility and Restrictions
Available to UW faculty, staff, or affiliates with a valid NetID and Worktags. Accounts are group-based and access is managed via keys.

System availability: 24/7/365 (except during maintenance)
Scheduled maintenance:
Second Tuesday of every month, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Extended quarterly maintenance: Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct, 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. the following day
Accounts typically provisioned within 1–3 business days
