Step 1: Upload your syllabus and set the context
Click the plus icon, attach your course syllabus or materials, and prompt Purple:
"I've attached my course syllabus. Please analyze the course goals and learning objectives, then let me know when you're ready to help me design Canvas course modules."
Purple will provide a detailed analysis of your course goals and confirm it's ready to begin generating content. The response will end with suggested next steps, such as:
Step 2: Review and refine
Check Purple's analysis for accuracy. If anything doesn't align with your vision, provide specific feedback about what needs adjustment and why.
Step 3: Generate module content
Once the analysis looks good, ask Purple to develop specific modules. For example:
"This looks great. Let's start with Week 2. The theme is Unite, and the lecture topics are: course overview, engineering design processes, information gathering, and 5 dimensions of teamwork."
Purple will generate a complete module outline aligned with your syllabus, including structure, activities, and assessments.
Note: If Purple's response appears incomplete, simply ask: "The response was cut off—can you continue?" Purple will pick up where it left off.
