Protecting Your Smartphone Security


When UW employees use their smartphones for work, it can put the University's information. It is the employee's responsibility to keep that information secure. Learn the best practices for protecting your smartphone.

Purpose

When UW employees use their smartphones to respond to work emails, download files with institutional information, or access University applications, it poses a potential risk to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of institutional data, with much of the risk management falling on the individual employee.

The following best practices may also be helpful for UW students.

If you use a UW or personally owned smartphone to conduct University business, Information Security encourages you to consider the following tips to secure the smartphone:
